My Story

MUNCHY likes to stare deeply into your eyes with his soulful brown peepers and convince you to give him treats and treats and extra food. Our super-skinny boy has filled out, is looking fabulous and he's ready to find his furever home. Beautiful brindle Munchy landed in a rural shelter in emaciated condition, weighing around 25 pounds. He's now up to 32 pounds and still a bit too thin but he loves to eat, so putting weight on him is easy. Munchy is a mixed breed boy, our best guess is a mountain cur/boxer mix, plus some smaller breeds to account for his small size. Munchy is about 2 years old and fully grown at 32 pounds but could probably stand to add a couple more pounds. Munchy's two favorite things in this world are people and food. He's lively and sweet and affectionate, but seems mostly indifferent to other dogs. We think he'd be fine as an only dog. If you'd like to meet Munchy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Munchy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog's veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog's final adoption fee.
