My Story

????????? ??? ???????? Oreo was brought in as a stray after he was located running loose on East Greystone Road in Old Bridge. After being brought to the shelter and held for 7 days, no one came forward to claim him. Oreo was extremely nervous to be in the shelter especially being put behind a cage and hearing so many other dogs barking. Oreo spent most of his time hiding in the corner cowering in fear of his new environment. After about a month and a half, Oreo is still nervous of people coming close to his space within the cage. However, once he is out in the yard, he blossoms into a playful and energetic dog that loves to enjoy the open space. He loves being out with certain people more than others and slow and steady interactions are the way to go with Oreo. Once he gets to know you, he will begin to trust more and show more affection. Oreo is in search of an owner that will dedicate multiple visits in order to help him familiarize with someone who is willing to bring him out of his shell after being abandoned by his past family. The shelter staff is unsure how Oreo would do with cats and dogs, but it would be preferred that he be the only dog in the home so he can get as much attention as possible. It’s also important that he go to a home with older kids or an adult only home as he can be skittish with sudden movements and intrusions into a confined space. Oreo is patiently waiting for his forever home and if you’re looking for a dog that loves to be outdoors and playing with toys until the sun goes down, he’s your boy. Oreo is neutered, up to date with current vaccines and microchipped. Contact the Old Bridge Animal Shelter for more info: (732) 721-5600 x6300 or, better yet, stop by for a visit. We are open 7 days a week from 10am till 3pm and Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 7pm.
