Penny Miniature Pinscher & Rat Terrier Mix High Point, NC

Penny is the most darling girl! She looks like a MinPin, maybe Rat Terrier mix but doesn’t have the typical MinPin/terrier attitude.

The vet estimated her to be 7 years old and she is a petite 7.2 pounds. She was found as a stray by a family but their small child was loud and active, which made her nervous, so she came into rescue to find a more peaceful forever home. She should be fine around older, calmer children but would adore having a new home with just adults where life is more laid back.

This sweetheart is a snuggle bunny and LOVES to spend time with you. The vet said that she was the sweetest MinPin mix he had ever met!!

She is already house trained and pee pad trained. She is clicker trained.

Penny does love to play once she is comfortable. She has her toys which she sees as her babies and moves them from bed to bed with her. It’s really cute. Her favorite is a rubber French Fry toy.

She is calm overall and playful at times. She is at her happiest in the evenings when her foster mom has time to focus on Penny. She loves to play with her toy babies and foster mom.

Penny is a little reserved with strangers at first but definitely not snappy, just shy. After they gently pet her or show her attention she is fine and loves to be held and loved on.

She is usually quiet. She will bark when someone unfamiliar comes in the house but stops when all is safe.

Penny spends most of her time hanging out in her bed with her toy babies other than breaks to go out to potty or eat her meals.

Penny has moderate energy levels. She walks nicely on the leash. She is good in the car. She uses a car seat and when snuggled with her baby ( French Fry especially), you never know she’s in the car since she is so quiet and calm.

She seems to be okay with well mannered dogs but will only play with ones she really likes, not that picky about size. She is not a fan of the other Chihuahuas in her foster home and would probably be very happy as an only dog in a home. She would not miss having doggie company, but is content with her humans and toy babies. She does not like other dogs messing with the toys in her bed (fine sharing with humans).

She has some normal aging changes in her eyes which may limit her vision a little but has no issues at all getting around.

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.
