Hey there, everyone! I’m Petey, a sweet adorable Catahoula Leopard Dog/ German Shepherd mix fella with “Catahoula” floppy ears. I was born December 7, 2023 and love to play with my hoomans as much as with my siblings. I’ve assumed the responsibility of keeping my twin sister Piper “in line,” but we often snuggle with each other when playtime is over. At seven weeks old I weighed 10 pounds, but I should weigh over 50 pounds when I’m full grown. Catahoulas are the only dog breed to have originated in Louisiana, where we’re used for hunting/ tree dogs, watchdogs, and stock dogs. Adults are well-muscled and powerful dogs who are renowned for their agility and stamina. We take our work seriously but are loving and loyal family companions at home. An active family who likes outdoor exercise like walking, jogging, hiking, or playing Frisbee at the park would be a perfect fit for me. The noble, loyal German Shepherd likes to bond with family members by being right in the center of all their activities. GSD's can be gentle family pets who easily learn commands. Although we make great house dogs, we need regular daily exercise for our physical and mental well-being. My momma Dolly was found and rescued as a pregnant stray, and my #fabulous-5 litter was born in foster care. Now that I'm ready for adoption, consider adopting me with one of my siblings. That way we can keep each other company when you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today, and be prepared for me to cover your face with mushy puppy kisses. Petey will get his second round of puppy shots prior to adoption. He has been dewormed and microchipped and is on heartworm preventative. Adopter must sign a contract to bring him back to Miss Donna in July for him to be neutered at 7 months old. His adoption fee is $300 for puppies 9 months and younger. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
