My Story

Pickles, the courageous and resilient Rottweiler, has captured the hearts of many since her unexpected journey began. Found wandering the streets a couple of months ago, she was discovered following a young girl who was making her way home from the nearby park. Pickles' determination to find a loving family led her to jump into an Amazon delivery truck, only to be gently escorted out by the driver. Undeterred, she then spotted the girl's mother opening the car door and seized the opportunity to jump inside. The mother, moved by Pickles' persistence, allowed her to stay and embarked on a quest to locate her original owner. Despite extensive efforts to reunite Pickles with her rightful family, no one came forward to claim her. In a twist of fate, it was discovered that the little girl's mother, unfortunately, had an allergic reaction to Pickles. This heartbreaking realization left her suffering from hives, constant itching, and uncontrollable sneezing. Faced with the difficult decision of finding a new home for Pickles, the family made the selfless choice to surrender her to a rescue organization. Enter the compassionate team at our rescue organization, who welcomed Pickles with open arms. They quickly recognized her gentle nature and her affinity for people, especially children. Although she may initially display reactivity towards other dogs, Pickles easily calms down and adapts well to their presence. In fact, her previous family had a small Yorkie-poo, with whom she got along splendidly. However, it was during a recent encounter with another small dog that the need for a specific home environment became evident. When the small dog displayed aggression towards Pickles, she instinctively defended herself without causing harm. This incident highlighted the importance of finding a home where other dogs are friendly and won't exhibit aggression or reprimand her for her natural response. On the other hand, Pickles would likely thrive in the company of other large dogs. Currently in foster care with four other large dogs, Pickles continues to impress with her adaptability and positive behavior. She has seamlessly integrated into her temporary home, proving her ability to coexist harmoniously with her fellow four-legged companions. This experience further solidifies the belief that Pickles would flourish in a forever home where she can receive the love, care, and understanding she deserves. Now, as we advocate for Pickles' adoption, we make a heartfelt plea to all those seeking a loyal and affectionate companion. Pickles is a remarkable dog, blessed with unwavering loyalty, resilience, and a spirit that shines even in the face of adversity. She yearns for a home where she can forge a deep bond with her human family, revel in their love, and share in life's adventures. Let us come together and spread the word about Pickles, a remarkable Rottweiler who has overcome adversity and is now searching for her forever home. Together, we can make a difference in this brave canine's life and provide her with the love and stability she so desperately craves. Pickles is ready to embark on a new chapter, and with your support, she can finally find the happiness and security she so richly deserves. We believe that Pickles is under a year old. She is so pretty and friendly she will melt your heart!! Our Adoption Process... If you are interested in adopting one of our fun loving not so rotten rotties, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will allows us to get to know you better and to make sure the dog you are looking at is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our questionnaire by going to our website, www.rottenrottie.com click on the forms tab, and fill out the questionnaire and submit it online. After we review your answers, if we feel that the dog that you are interested in, is not a good fit for you and your family, we may recommend a different rottweiler companion. After we determine which Rottweiler(s) is the best for you, we will set up a time so that you can meet him or her at their house, where they will feel most comfortable and act as they normally do. We will require a home check to make sure the dog is going to a good home. An adoption contract will be signed to finalize the adoption and we do ask for a rehoming fee of $500 for most adults, $350 for most of our seniors 6 years and above for any rottweiler mix of any age (except puppies) . Our fees for puppies fluctuate depending on how much we had to invest into them or their litter, and weather they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary so that our organization may continue to rehome rottweilers. ALL of our dogs are sterilized, fully vaccinated and microchipped, heartworm tested negative and come with a collar and a leash. We have also addressed any injury or illness that they had when they came to us, or received in foster care. These problems will be disclosed to the adopter prior to adoption. please be advised that in almost all cases we will not adopt our dogs to folks who live in different states. On rare occasion, if we feel that it is a PERFECT for both you and the dog, we sometimes will break that rule for our neighbors who live in Las Vegas. If you live in Vegas and would like us to consider you, please fill out an application.
