My Story
Hi, I’m Pixie! My owner gave me up because he fell on hard times and couldn’t care for me, but then I barely escaped the shelter with my young life! I was so scared but I still comforted my kennel mate. Now I’m with my foster family learning all kinds of things, like that dogs get beds to sleep on - plus, thinking about what I want in a forever home!
I have a lot to offer, you see. My foster parents say I’m gorgeous, even if I am a little skinny at about 40 pounds. I’m heartworm negative and will be spayed before I go home with you! I was born in early 2023 so I’m about ten months old. I’m a perfect mix of silly and gentle. I’ve loved every dog I’ve met so far, and I only make a peep at night if I have to potty (beauty sleep is important, amirite?). I sit pretty to get my harness on and I love to wear my jacket to stay warm. I’m housebroken but still working on going whenever I get the opportunity (if you have a doggie door, I bet that’d be perfect!). My coat is super soft and I love pets and belly rubs. I’m also not destructive at all, impressive at my age! When I trust someone, I’ll lean my whole body against them and then flop over for a belly rub. I have a puppy friend who’s younger than me and I am the best playmate, I know he is working on his growls so I roll over when he does one. See? I’m a total catch.
My dream home would have a nice person, a comfy dog bed, and another playful dog. My feelings about cats on my walks range from indifference to benevolent curiosity so far, even though I see my foster brother feels differently. I’m eager to please and just want to be your sidekick.
This dog is ready for her forever home!

**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.
