My Story

OUR STORY Hello, I'm Peggy. I'm a brindle, mixed breed puppy. I’m full of life and love, despite my missing paw. The vet is unsure what type of trauma caused the injury. I've been told it might need an amputation, but that doesn't scare me. I'm strong, I've faced tougher times. My sister, Polly, and I were rescued from being dumped at a business in freezing temperatures, shivering and alone. But I survived, I held on, because I knew there was a better future waiting for me. I'm still waiting for the next chapter of that future, a forever home where I can share my boundless love and courage. If you have room in your heart for a brave little fighter like me, I'm the puppy for you. I promise, I'll fill your life with joy, laughter, and lots of cuddles. After all, every home needs a hero, right? ?Peggy is sweet and timid, and her frame is quite a bit smaller than her sister. We suspect she was the runt of the litter. She is a cuddler and loves to sit with you and enjoy life, but she plays hard, too! Her leg is healing nicely after being treated by her foster family and she is learning to adapt. As stated above, we aren’t sure exactly what this will mean, ultimately, as we will have to see how things develop as she grows, but she is a fighter. Partnering with her vet and adoptive family, we are committed to ensure she has the best outlook for her bright future. ?Polly is a protector. For the first week or so at the foster, Polly would sleep on top of Peggy and cry if she couldn’t see her. She KNEW they would not have survived that night they were dumped in the frigid temperatures with wind that could cut straight through you. Now that she has discovered they are both safe, Peggy will often go in the office and “work” with her foster dad (AKA: nap on his lap!) and Polly is fine. Polly gets along well with other animals and LOVES to play! She is an incredibly social dog and would love a family to call her own! Questions? Contact Jessica at 918-625-5089.
