My Story

Hello royal friend! This is Prince, your new best friend and adoring prince charming. He's a sweet and goofy 3 year old, 45 lbs goldendoodle ready to find his forever home! He's housebroken, great in a crate, easy on walks and looking for an active family to join. He has lots of energy and after a not-so-nice life, he is finally learning what it means to be a dog. He's a super smart boy and in only a couple days, he has started figuring out what toys are, what he's allowed to nibble on, what "no" means, and that jumping isn't a good thing. We think he would love a furry playmate to live with or a home ready to take him on long walks, trips to the dog park and ADVENTURES! He's neutered, heartworm negative, up to date and ready to find his family. Unfortunately he's hasn't had the past he deserves, so he could put on some weight and deserves a family that will give him the royal treatment and spoil him forever. We know you're out there and Prince can't wait to meet you! He has SO much love and affection to give! Reach out today to meet your Prince! This dog is a Benefactor Dog. His/her increased adoption fee will allow them to act as a benefactor to other dogs in our care that require special medical care and a better chance at adoption. PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2024 Benefactor Adoption Fee Scale: Benefactor Puppies under 12 months - $550 Benefactor Dogs over 12 months - $450 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match! For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
