Ricky Beagle Marshall, MO

Ricky was brought to us as an owner surrender. He belonged to a person who trains Beagles as hunting dogs. Ricky did not qualify as a good hunting dog so he remained an outside dog his whole life. At first he didn’t know how to even walk on a floor but now has upgraded to a very cute tiptoe trot across floors. He looks sad but is actually a very happy boy! He is a bit more quiet and reserved but perks up when he sees a kitty or one of the female dogs. He is a magnet boy who wants to be right by his person and if you move away from him he will keep scooting closer till he’s touching your leg:)

He always has his nose to the ground and his tail up sniffing all the sniffs! A fenced yard would be best or at minimum supervised yard time as we aren’t sure how far his nose might take him. Ricky has been doing exceptionally well at potty training and keeps his kennel pretty clean! He’s quite the lover and will fit in with any family. Because he’s lived outside, he is still learning all the luxuries of life but it is enjoyable to see him figure it all out.

Ricky came to us with Advanced Heartworms. He has completed his treatment but cannot exert a lot of energy by playing or running for at least 6-8 weeks until he is cleared. He will have to be on a monthly heartworm preventative for the rest of his life to ensure he won’t have to go through this painful process again. Ricky deserves to have a home that can spoil him and show him all the fun things in life!
