My Story

Nieve used to have owners, a family who chose to throw her out to the street because she couldn’t walk. She could barely hold her head upright when we got her, she was very malnourished and had erlichea along with some ticks. She is a distemper survivor but has no effects overall. Now that she has been in our care and is healthy, her ticks have gone away! She’s packed on some pounds and plays all day with all the dogs. She is a very loving, happy girl. She would love a friend to play with in the home but it is not required. She has an adorable little bark but is in no way aggressive. Just likes to let the other dogs know she’s there, if they’re peeking through the fence. She is ready for her forever home. https://www.facebook.com/ADNLdogshelter Adoption process: Our rescue is located near Bucerias, Mexico. We use Petfinder to reach a greater audience for our dogs and adopt the majority of our dogs to the US and Canada. The first step is submitting an application on our website here: https://www.adogsnewlife.org/adopt We will review your application and contact you if we have more questions/do a home check. If your application is approved, we work with flight angels that are flying from Puerto Vallarta to destinations close/in where the dog is posted as available. Adopters meet these flight angels at the airport and take the pup home. (More about this process can be explained to adopters of course in more detail). Before asking for adoption fees/adoption contract to be signed we give adopters a few days to a week to spend time with their new pup. If for some reason thing were to not work out we ask that the adopters foster the dog until we find a home for them to go. A few notes about our pups!: - Most of our shelter dogs are used to being outside free roaming unless otherwise stated. Some of them have been in homes before and thus are potty trained but in a new home they would need easy access to the outside and be re-acclimated to where you want them to go potty we cannot guarantee if a pup is potty trained unless they are with a foster or surrendered to us and it is noted. -We can of course send more videos/pictures of our dogs, more than likely, they'll have friends in the background :) We cannot do live videos at our shelter. -Our dogs are given de-wormer, Heartworm tested negative (unless otherwise noted), up to date on required vaccines for travel and current on flea and tick treatment, have been evaluated by our vet that has taken care of their medical they may have needed upon rescue. -Last but not least, we LOVE our dogs, and we hope you do too, they have solid hearts of gold and some of them are the most humble you'll find around. Please be kind and patient with them, they are worth it!
