Ruby came from a local kill shelter where her time was almost up. Here’s her story, in her own words:
I was rescued on my very last day by a nice lady who wanted to find me a new home. I was just getting settled in when my foster mom noticed I was gaining weight. Next thing you know, I was a mom to gorgeous 12 puppies! I was a good mom, but now the kids are off to new lives and I am here, ready for my next adventure!
I am looking for someone special who is willing to take care of me. I am an energetic young lady who has no idea of how big she is. I love to run and play even if I am still not sure how. I love walks but I am still new at this and with patience I will learn how to walk on leash. I am very loving and loyal and I will follow you all around the house. I look a little bit intimidating but I am more scared than you. But I promise you, when in need, I will protect you and your pack.
Some other things about me: I am potty trained. I sleep all night in my bed next to my foster mom and I do not like the crate.
Because of my exuberance, I would need to be with someone who can handle big dogs. When I am happy, I like to jump on people to show my appreciation. I also like to sit … on you, if you let me. So, please, no young kids in the house or cats. I do not hurt them but I chase them. I love playing with other big dogs that can handle my play style. I do not mind sharing food. Though, if another dog has a bone, I will make it mine. I love chewing bones! I do not have a destructive behavior but if I am super bored, I could give a second look to that pillow. I will not destroy it but some stuffing might come out.
Did I tell you I am better at escape than Houdini? Our first few days together you will want to keep on eye on me until I feel secure and at home.
I am available for adoption now that my babies have all found new homes and I’ve been spayed so I won’t have any more. Come meet me!
