Samantha is a beautiful, happy, playful, yellow lab guessed to be approximately 7-8ish years old... but we're really not sure due to her being found stray. She is a total sweetheart and spunky for her age, but also loves to snuggle on her bed and take naps throughout the day. She adores her plush toys and is happy to chew an antler. Sammy loves attention and will take all you can give but when it's time to relax she happily and contently lays on her bed. She is super well-behaved... completely house trained, having never had an accident in her foster home... and she has excellent house manners... even when left uncreated while foster mom and dad are away. She gets along great with her foster doggie siblings ranging from 7 to 75 lbs. She walks fine on a leash, though she doesn't necessarily need walks to burn off energy... it's more to burn off weight and calories. Sadly, Sammy came to us 30+ lbs overweight. She is on a strict diet... she's doing great and loves her high-quality, low cal food! Her ideal weight is 55-60 lbs. She also has allergies, so she needs a little extra care for her ears and feet. ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org. Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possible. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed.
