Meet SAPPHIRE!

Our gorgeous SAPPHIRE is an approximately 3 to 4 year old female spayed potential Husky and Carolina dog mix? She's one thousand percent awesome whatever she is!

Sapphire does really well with other dogs, she loves playing and when nap time comes around, she loves cuddling. She is very vocal when she plays but she is very much just playing.

Sapphire is currently in a foster home with another dog and a young child. She LOVES playing with kids. When the fosters nephews came over with
their soccer ball, instead of kicking it around themselves, she chased the ball and tried to 'catch' it. When she's tired after playtime, she curls up on the couch with them to watch a movie.

Sapphire is fairly high energy and needs to get outside to run around and play, but at the end of the day she will calm down and is ready to chill with her family.
Sapphire loves meeting new people. She may jump on them
to say hi but we are working on this. Sapphire is very outgoing; she makes friends everywhere and is usually loved by everyone she meets.

On a typical walk she does well on a leash, she may pull slightly if she
is trying to get to a smell faster than you’re walking, but overall, she is great.

Sapphire loves being in the car with the windows down and the wind
in her fur! If there is no one in the passenger seat, she may join you up front. She isn’t overwhelming she’ll just sit there and give you the occasional smooch at a red light.

While Miss Sapphire is crate trained, crates are not Sapphire’s favorite place to be. Currently she is in a crate at night and if we leave the house, she goes in willingly. During the day she does well, but she doesn’t like being alone in her crate for long periods of time. At night, 7 hours is about her limit before she is awake and ready to start her day.

Sapphire is completely housebroken! She has never had any accidents in the house. She will stand at the door or
bark at you to let you know she needs to go outside.
Sapphire is also very smart! She knows Sit, Down & Paw. She gets
annoyed with “other paw” but will eventually give you both. She is very good in a bath as well; she will jump in and out of the tub on request and she will turn around for you to wash her other side.

Squeaky toys are her favorite, even after she rips the squeaker and the fluff out, the toy is still a good toy to her. She also loves playing with balls,
tennis balls, basketballs, soccer & volleyballs are the ones we have for her.
Sapphire would love a home with other active dogs and kids for her to play
with. Kids aren’t necessarily mandatory, but her humans will need to play with her!
Sapphire has a very strong personality and isn’t afraid to tell you what she wants. When she first arrived, she never wagged her tail, praise and love
seemed foreign to her, now she wags it all the time. She also learned to cuddle and will snuggle under a blanket with you while you nap.
