Spree - new update Papillon Saint Louis, MO

Update on Spree in foster care . Spree has now been waiting for a home for almost 4 months !!! We need someone to give her a chance with a fenced in yard !!! Spree is reluctant to walk on a leash and will not go to the bathroom on a lead !!!! We will not be able to consider you without a physical fence . This is for a successful placement for both dog and adopter! Spree continues to be an active dog that loves attention , great with cats and loves other dogs . She has not been around small children. An almost 7 year old dog with the heart of a very young dog !!!



REQUIRED: **Must** live within one hour of St. Louis. We are a small rescue and cannot support adoptions outside of this area. All pets are required to be up to date on vaccinations, vet care, and preventatives at the time of application. We always check vet references. Please also note that Spree will need another dog in her forever home. We can't make exceptions on any of these requirements.

Meet Spree! Spree is a 6.5 yrs old Papillon who acts more like a tiny Border Collie. She's been spayed, fully vetted including vaccines, received a full dental cleaning, and is heartworm negative - yay! Spree may only be 10 lbs, but she acts like a larger dog with her athletic tendencies. She would make an amazing dog for agility training and/or would also do well with someone who's interested in teaching a dog new tricks for treats. Spree is clearly quite smart and will need someone who is willing to keep her brain busy and her body moving!



Spree is a bit shy at first, but she warms up when given the time and space to do so. She does need a fenced yard as she's not yet leash trained and, due to her background, is also still working on her housetraining. Given how intelligent Spree clearly is, we know she will pick up on housetraining as long as her people are patient, kind, and give her some grace. She's never lived in a home prior to her foster home, so she hasn't known till now that you can't just tinkle wherever you'd like! Can you blame her!?

Spree does well in a crate and loves running around her foster home's yard. You should see how fast this girl is - she has a true need for speed!! Spree is the sweetest little nugget who would love to find her forever home and humans very soon! We can't wait to make that happen for her.
