Sprite - FTA Great Pyrenees & Collie Mix West Jefferson, OH

Hello all you beautiful humans! My name is Sprite and I am looking to find my furever family to call my own. I am a beautiful mix of Great Pyrenees and Collie, currently weighing around 54lbs, with an estimated date of birth of February of 2023. I am just a young gal, learning this big ole world one day at a time. Everything and everyday is a new adventure to me and I can't wait to find my own family to experience that with!
I made my way to this nice place after a nice person found me outside wandering around on my own and gave me a ride here. When I got here the Vet staff could tell I had been outside quite a bit. I had some hair loss and wounds on my ears that hurt pretty bad, but they patched me right up and over time I have started to grow my hair back! I do really enjoy being outside, especially on nice days. Whether it's taking a long walk, or playing outside with some toys, I am down for some outdoor fun! I have even been on a couple of field trips, with the awesome volunteers here, to one of the local parks!
When I first arrived here, I was a little scared of everything. But I quickly realized how much they all care about me here and I have really opened up. I can still get a little unsure of new situations and I am the queen of the submissive grin when I get nervous. But I promise it is just my way of getting through new situations and the Staff and Volunteers tell me how pretty my smile is when I do it. I really LOVE human touch. Especially when I am feeling unsure, I will stand as close to the human handling me and if they kneel down I will lift up one paw and hold your hold for reassurance. I really like this. It makes me feel safe and sound.
I do like to keep my kennel here nice and tidy so someone may have previously worked with me on housetraining. I am super smart and treat motivated so transitioning to a new home should go well for me. I have met both male and female dog friends while being here and even though I was a bit nervous I still did great. I did lots of play bows and sniffing. It may take me a little longer to get comfortable with another dog but I should do just fine. I also did great when I was taken inside the cat adoption room to meet some feline friends!

Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $17, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
