Thelma; a resilient soul with a story to tell. Her journey hasn't been easy, starting as a stray picked up by the shelter, only to be diagnosed with a heart murmur and pyometra. With uncertain odds, we took a chance on her, and she emerged from surgery a fighter, on the path to recovery. Thelma embodies the classic Chihuahua demeanor. She is initially cautious with a spicy personality, but once she warms up to new people, she becomes their steadfast companion, sticking to their side like a shadow. From reserved (and often cranky) beginnings to affectionate cuddles, she blossoms with trust and affection. While Thelma battles congestive heart failure, she remains stable for now, experiencing only occasional breathlessness during intense moments. However, she requires daily medication, and the timeline ahead is uncertain. Our vet estimates about a year from diagnosis, but Thelma's resilience might extend that.
