My Story

Tim is now a Teenager with a big attitude, bigger quest to explore and complete need for his mommy (aren't all boys - mama's boys?)... Tim is a talker, he barks and whines to communicate. He is crate trained but if he can not see a human, he panics and will howl like a coyote. Happy to watch TV or play with a toy while his foster Grandma is busy, he knows when to be calm and when to be hyper - telling of his age. He is a clingy Doberman who will need an experienced family to help him through separation anxiety so he can overcome his abandonment issues. Outside or with his dog friends, he is busy - bouncy and vocal. He makes friends easily, he plays rough and tumble with other young hyper dogs and will be nice with older grumpy dogs who correct him, tell him to give them space. He would like a doggie playmate but a dog is not substitution for a human. Tim is a confident and assertive Doberman, he has no problem taking toys or sitting on a dog to claim the chair/dog bed/blanket they are on. He is not mean but will need a dog sibling who is equally young and hyper or a tolerant older dog. Our Vet has aged him at 10 months old and with proper care, should be a smaller but standard sized Doberman adult. He was last weight in at 42 pounds and was growing like a 'weed' - noticeably taller each week. Tim is a red Doberman with a docked tail, cropped ears that do not stand. Neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. He is now healthy with little memory of he started out, severely neglected. Videos: REEL ON FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/reel/349075981155796 ... Called Tiny Tim at intake due to his size - he appeared to be just a few months old and weighed only 21 lbs. He had a fungal infection on his paws, causing the hair to fall off. We knew we could help him - just bones but with older dog teeth - we suspected he was not as young as he looked. Malnourished "Tiny Tim" was feed around the clock and kept hydrated, given toys and cuddles - he quickly doubled his weight and 'bounced' back into action. He is still growing. He required supplements, vitamins, antibiotics and quality foods. His foster offered socialization, regular car rides, leash training and behavior correction to help him both physically and mentally. ...
