My Story

His happy face, wagging tail, and wonderful personality is sure to put a smile on your face. Meet Toby! If you like a total Velcro dog, Toby is it. He loves the company of people and is a good, laid-back house dog. He’s also friendly and playful with other dogs big and small and so far in his foster home, he hasn’t bothered the cats or chickens. Toby is deaf, but don’t let that deter you from adopting him. If you already have a good-mannered dog, Toby will fit in and take cues from that dog. Toby is smart as a whip and is picking up sign language commands. He is a little more vocal than a hearing dog, but that’s not unusual. Toby is crate and house trained and he walks nicely on leash. And boy does he love water! He’s about 2 years old, weighs 35 pounds and has a long tail. Toby is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He tested negative for heartworms and is taking heartworm prevention. Thanks for considering a dog from Texas Cattle Dog Rescue! We place heelers all over the state of Texas. If you're interested in one of our dogs, please first complete our adoption application. You can download it at www.texascattledogrescue.com/adopt.html. Our adoption fees: puppies under 1 year old $350; adults 1-7 years old $300; seniors 8+ years old $150; seniors for seniors 8+ years old, adopters 60+ $100. Our dogs will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and heartworm tested before going to a new home. We conduct a home visit to help match up the right dog with the right owner.
