Toby Maltese Mix Cascadia, OR

Hi, I'm Toby, an adorable, affectionate, playful, cuddly and social 7 pound, 5-6 month old Maltese mix.

I am fostered in Linn County, about an hour from Eugene, Corvallis, Sisters, about 1.5 from Bend, and about 2 from Portland and Newport. My rescue people may be able to meet partway.

I am all puppy! I love to run, play with toys, be held, go on walks, take naps. I can be mischievous. I will need ongoing training using only positive methods, to become a mannerly adult.
I am partially house trained and on a good potty schedule without a pack of dogs, I'll come around quickly. I don't want to be a potty pad guy for life. I walk well on leash, and I have great recall off leash. I sleep on my own and don't make a peep all night.

I am an outdoorsy guy looking for folks who let me be active and get dirty. I am off leash recall trained and will want a yard where I can run fast off leash. I get along great with other nice dogs and I would love someone to play with.

I have a hairlip that does not require surgery. I can eat and drink water just fine and several vets have been consulted and all agree that I am fine as I am. I just have a cute and unique nose that makes me one-of-a-kind. I am neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, de-wormed, and I am on flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. My adoption donation, that makes it possible for my rescue to continue helping dogs, is $600.

A great home for me and my must haves include:

1. A house with securely fenced yard that a small dog can run around and sunbathe in. and folks who are not gone long hours. I am a puppy and I need lots of company and training.

2. Adopters who have puppy experience or have done their research and are prepared. i am a puppy and I do all the puppy things. I have not been destructive with shoes or furniture, but I have chewed a few phone and other cords and care will have to be taken. I also have potty accidents like puppies do, and my rescue will give you the information you need to continue with effective positive reinforcement training.

3. Folks will treat me as a family member, take me on daily walks and include me in their fun outings, and will train me with love and positives.

4. Folks who know the cost of grooming and are prepared to pay it.
