My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Have you ever wanted your very own "Unicorn"? Well, now is your opportunity! Meet Unicorn a 4-year-old female Great Pyrenees/Akbash Mix (approximately 70lbs) that is one heck of a dog! This girl is happy and full of life! If you were to ask her what she wants most in her next family, it would be another dog to play with (she is so playful) and a family that will give her oodles of attention. Unicorn is SO great with other dogs and with kids. She's simply a lover of all. She can take a minute to warm up to visitors at home, but once she does, she treats them just like family and expects many pets. She is house trained, crate trained, and she knows a couple of commands as well (sit and lay down). She's a smart girl too and would love to learn more. She has excellent leash manners. As far as food goes, if she smells something yummy you can guarantee you will catch her licking her lips and hoping that a delicious morsel gets dropped for her. Sometimes her tongue and curiosity get the best of her if a tasty treat is left on the counter. She is working on controlling that tongue though. Unicorn was adopted from Rescue Rovers more than 3 years ago, and she has been very loved! She needs a new home because the neighborhood her home is in now has changed so much over the years and she is not adapting to it very well. With loud construction noise, military base detonations, and a nearby outdoor shooting range, she isn't handling all that ruckus very well. She needs to be in an area that is mostly free of that kind of extreme, external loud chaos. She also needs to be in a home with a fenced yard, her breed tends to wander and create her own perimeter to guard if one isn't clearly defined for her. Rest assured, if a scary leaf blows through your backyard, she will let you know all about it and make sure you are safe. She has SO MUCH love to give, and really deserves another loving family. No matter what you're up for, if it's going on a hike, walk, or watching movies together, she is happy with anything. She just really wants to be a part of a good family. If you think this big, beautiful girl could be the Unicorn you've been searching for, apply to meet her today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication
