My Story
Dinah is an absolutely loving mushy amazing meatball of an angel who is seeking bully loving parents to make her dreams of being loved come true! She came into the pound a while ago when her owner became very ill and was no longer able to care for his dogs. She came in with a male pitty whom she loved very much. Efforts were made to place them together and sadly, as their time began to run out at the pound, they figured it’s better to separate them and place them than have them both die there. So while it broke everyone’s hearts, it was determined that it made sense for one final push to be made to save them. They had waited desperately for over a year to find a forever home together, while their incredible temperaments bought them time at the pound. Everyone truly fell in love with them, and dreams that this girl will one day be cherished by amazing humans! The male she came in with ended up being adopted to a home who had a female pitty and is doing amazing, and sweet Dinah is now remaining in the crowded pound on borrowed time, desperate for someone to save her. They have reached out for us to help but unfortunately we don’t have foster space available, but want to do whatever we can to help this girls dreams come true!
In an effort to ensure she is ready to go, all of her medical work has been completed! She has gained necessary weight, been heartworm tested, microchipped, fully vaccinated, spayed, dewormed, and stays current on preventative. She’s about 5 years old now, and weighing a happily voluptuous 85 lbs.
Dinah has become the pound favorite! She has volunteers who go and walk her every day, rain or shine, warm or cold. She enjoys her walks so much, no matter who is walking her and she does great walking with any of the other pups at the pound as well! She is a true lover of car rides and is so excited when people bring her with them to run errands and see the world! She does great at Lowe’s, tractor supply, the pet store, nature trails, no matter where she goes she has a big smile on her face, a wagging tail, and she is so grateful for new friends and a chance at fresh air and love. She has done sleepovers at volunteers houses and she has had excellent house manners, reliably going potty outside and eagerly waiting on the sofa for a loving human to snuggle with her! She truly absolutely craves more than anything, an opportunity to cuddle and be loved. She has the sweetest silly side to her when she gets excited for new toys or a new adventure. Dinah is fun and easy going at the same time. She’s been through a lot, and approaches life with so much gratitude. She lost her owner, she lost her doggy husband, and just can’t take anymore losses. She wants to live a happy, easy going life with you. Cheerful walks and car rides, lots of cold day snuggling, a full belly, and living out her life as a devoted companion to a human who will never let her go.
