Yana

Yana is a 6 year old spayed female Lab/Dane. Yana, (You Are Never Alone), is one of the nicest, sweetest dogs ever. From her foster - Yana Banana is a mixture of an extra sticky Velcro dog with her hoomans on the bed or on the couch, and a goofy girl who has a ton of puppy energy playing with her canine foster buddies. She is extremely playful, loving and listens well for the most part. She waits patiently to be fed after the other dogs' food bowls are placed down. She is food, treat and toy motivated. Takes treats very gently. She will sit with just verbal command, no treat needed. She is house trained with a regular schedule and sleeps well in her crate. She is working hard on her kitchen manners. She is very curious in there, and is trying so hard not to be a counter surfer. There is currently a “No Food Zone” boundary line in place on the countertops to remind her hoomans that her head reaches over the counter without her having to get up on her hind legs! Yana is a big girl who doesn’t understand her strength. She’ll be most comfortable in a home with adults and older kids who can be sensitive to her size and have experience with big, goofy dogs. Yana loves to ruff play with other dogs that are “properly introduced”, and will be happiest with a dog friend of her own size. She can be quite talkative/expressive and is definitely a guard dog when she hears unfamiliar sounds or from new people coming into the household. She will benefit in a dog savvy home with someone who can guide her, but also be firm with her, and establish boundaries. This beauty is a wonderful, rewarding, work in progress, and she’d love to continue working on her training with you! Yana is a big dog with an even bigger heart. Want to Adopt? 1) Fill out an application on theluckypuppy.org The adoption fees for puppies up to 12 months are a minimum donation of $600, (dogs too young to be fixed will have an extra $200 deposit, refundable pending your spay/neuter agreement), 1 year and up are a minimum donation of $500, 7+ years or special needs are a minimum $400 donation 2) Once your application is in, our adoption coordinator will contact you and complete a vet check and home visit (possibly electronic). 3) Once approved, please schedule a meet and greet to see the dogs. Meet and greets are by appointment only for approved adopters. Yana is available in NY through the Go North Program of The Lucky Puppy Rescue, rescue based in Bonifay and Panama City, FL and adoption center in Argyle NY (NY Lic #1054). This dog is currently in NY. The minimum donation $500 adoption fee includes transportation from FL to NY, spay/neuter surgery or spay/neuter agreement (if too young), up to date with: age appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention (if old enough) and martingale safety collar.
