Zeus Bernese Mountain Dog & Labrador Retriever Mix Oswego, NY

Zeus is a mighty dog, worthy of Mount Olympus and all the fanfare. He is a very good boy and knows commands, such as "sit," "shake," and "come." He consistently responds to his name being called too. He is a very big dude at 105#! He acts more like a lap dog, so be careful if you allow him on the sofa or bed-- there might not be room for you too!

Because of his size, we recommend a home with children who are 10 years of age or older. He would love to have another dog to wrassle around with too. We don't know his opinion of cats yet.

He is doing really great in his foster home and has been working on not jumping on people when he's excited (which is a lot of the time!). He needs some confidence for car rides, but that just may be because he doesn't know how to move his own body into a vehicle.

Zeus is a people-pleaser and very food motivated. He is house-trained but not crate-trained (however he isn't a destructive chewer when left by himself). At first, a large yard with 6' fencing is required. He loves to be outside for many hours at a time and he'd probably become an excellent trail-partner and camper.

Zeus is almost 2 years old, vaccinated and neutered. The adoption fee is $300 and does include microchipping.
